This is a follow up to my previous posting of a 1/35 LCVP that was assigned to this ship, the USS Geneva. This is a tribute build to my wife’s uncle who served as a motor mac on LCVP no. 4. This is also my first real attempt at a 1/700 scale ship. The kit that I received from my friend Hugh Letterly, co-owner of Loose Cannon Productions is a real gem. It is a resin kit sold as the USS Gilliam but represents any of the ships of this class. The ship is pretty straight forward. It was painted with WEM paints and rigged with 8x fly fishing tippet. Who knew so much could be added to a 7” model! I can honestly say that I’ve never done so much modeling in such a small space. I think my wife’s family will enjoy this model and I hope you do as well.
