1/720 USS Nassau LHA-4 (Italeri)
It's been a while since I've finished a ship - mostly because I'm spending a lot more time attempting detail work now than in my earlier days, and also because I've recently moved, and there's nothing quite like a move to interrupt your building!
I've been working on the Italieri kit of the USS Nassau on and off for a year, and just finished her up today, Christmas Day 2008.
I added the Gold Medal Models Tarawa/Saipan set to the kit. The match of fittings is not completely accurate, but I was determined to use the 5" guns that the ship no longer carries. The airwing is limited as I used only the 10 aircraft that came with the kit.
The kit had some pretty serious warp problems that were not entirely corrected. But overall, I enjoyed this project and the finished product is pretty much the "state of the art" for me as far as my limited modeling skills are concerned!
