USS Spartanburg County

1/350 LST-1192 USS Spartanburg County (Iron Shipwright)

Kit is the 1/350 Iron Shipwright resin LST-1179 USS Newport - 1985. I built the kit as the LST-1192 USS Spartanburg County in March 1987 as she appeared during Exercise "SARDINIA - 87" carrying heavy equipment of the 26th MAU.

This is one of Iron Shipwright's newer kits (1 August 2004). Kit arrived missing several parts, a quick call to ISW and the missing parts (gun turrets) arrived in two days - great service.

My kit came with:

• 12 - Assault Amphibian Vehicle Personnel Model 7A1 (AAVP7A1)
• 12 - LAV25 Recon Vehicles
• 12 - M35 Cargo trucks
• 6 - M60A1 Main Battle Tanks
• 6 - M109 155mm Medium Howitzer - Tracked

These are all excellently molded in resin. Very useful if you want to do a diorama.
