1/225 USS Massachusetts BB-2 (Glencoe)

This is my third GLENCOE kit of OREGON, this time completed as USS Massachusetts, the second of its class. Along with some cutting, scratchbuilding, butchery and a lot of sanding, to complete this endeavor I used: After attaching the two main deck pieces to the hull, I applied the brass-etch railing, and painted it gray. Turned out to be a not-very-good idea to start. When I began to apply the paper wood decking, I encountered some fit problems in a few spots, as the railing encroached upon where the deck wood should be. My bad. The SCALEDECKS holes aligned perfectly when I checked them out earlier, but I had to do some slight cutting because of the way I positioned the railing. The cage mast came with a flet for four spotlights. I cut off two, based on photos I used for research.

About ten years ago, I completed OREGON in peacetime paint scheme. A year later, a customer (of my then-hobby store) GAVE me a kit he bought from me earlier and simply spray painted it ALL gray. I added some detail painting and tried out my first attempt at weathering! I have learned much since I discovered ModelWarships.com, and hope to submit improved models in the years to come.
