1/700 USS Texas BB-35 (Trumpeter)
Wow, what a nice out -of-box build! Many parts, overall crisp detail and accurate dimensions. Only thing added was music wire and the ensign. She is modeled in MS-21 during the Iwo Jima/Okinawa battles. The horizontal colors are actually deck blue, differing from the overall Navy Blue paint scheme despite looking similar. A gray wash helped bring out the details and oils were used for weathering. The kit builds very nicely into a late war version with many PE parts included.
