1/350 USS Oklahoma BB-37 ( Iron Shipwright)
I built the Oklahoma kit as the battleship looked in March 1941. Oklahoma just completed her final overhaul and upgrade at Bremerton shipyard in February of 1941. I attached a picture of Oklahoma when she was at Bremerton in February 1941. I also added a picture of Oklahoma taken shortly before leaving Pearl Harbor for the last time for the West Coast.
It was a straight forward build right out of the box. I added some extra's from the PE and ship spare parts box. I selected the peacetime colors of #5 Navy Gray, #20 Deck Gray, and Natural Wood Decks. Later on in the year, June 1941, the Oklahoma along with the rest of the Battleline repainted into Measure 1. I intensely dislike this scheme as being too dark and just downright ugly to show correctly in a ship model.
