1/350 USS Oklahoma (IronShipwrights)

The USS Oklahoma is the "forgotten victim" of the Pearl Harbor attack.  Moored outboard of the USS Maryland, Oklahoma had the misfortune of being smack in the middle of the path of the Japanese torpedo bombers attacking Battleship Row.  As a result, she took as many as nine torpedoes, and, unable to counter-flood, quickly rolled over at her moorings. Some of the most iconic pictures from the Day of Infamy are of her upturned hull.  The suddenness of her capsizing meant many of her crew had no chance to escape, and 429 of them died with their ship.  While the Arizona, with almost triple the casualties of Oklahoma, has garnered the most fame and attention, post-attack, the service and sacrifice of the Oklahoma and her crew should not be forgotten.  This build is dedicated to their memory.
