1/500 USS Pennsylvania BB-38 (Revell Kitbash)
Using Revell's Arizona, this is my attempt at her refitted sistership as she appeared in 1945.
I have tried to make an SK-2 for her masthead using GMM's pe. I just have not been able to assemble the provided one so I wrapped a CXAM around a ball bearing and tried to trim it round. the hull is cedar with plastic torpedo bulges. the 5" 38's are from Revell's Missouri and have been raised a little to hide the 1/536 scale difference. 40mm's are from Revell also.
The mark 37's are out of wood and plastic as is the fighting top. I replaced the molded anchor chain with real chain and installed a new wing on the floatplane which has wing floats.
Still many discrepancies but getting closer and lots of fun trying.
