1/426 USS Arizona BB-39 (Revell Monogram)
This is the classic Revell kit of the USS Arizona in 1/426 scale. Since it's inaccurate for the date of the attack on Pearl Harbor (which is often pictured on the box for this kit), but it is reasonable accurate for the 1940/1941 time period, I've painted it in the color scheme it wore before the fleet was put on final war footing. I painted the biplane scouts in their peacetime colors and the ship in the overall gray scheme. I also added the hull numbers on the roofs of two main turrets to conform to this color scheme. Everything else is box-stock with the exception of the spreader arms on the foremast which I scratch built from scraps to replace the incorrect straight sticks of the kit. The rigging is brass and stainless steel wire and nylon leader.
