1/350 Trumpeter North Carolina Added to the basic kit was the new Eduard PE set, plus prepainted figures. The Eduard PE was excellent to work with: highly detailed, with over 500 parts, plus very clear instructions. Eduard's PE is made of a softer metal than others', and has bend marks cut into the parts so that most folds could be done with just tweezers. The mediocre fit of the Trumpeter kit was always a pain in the backside, especially Trumpeter's insistance of making little five and six-sided boxes out of everything with lots of seams to deal with. That said, detail was good and the upper and lower hull pieces needed only a little work to nestle together
