1/900 USS Iowa BB-61 (Lindberg)
I've built ship models for over 30 years, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone post photos of this particular kit: Lindberg's 1/900 Iowa class battleship. Of course the reason is that it's not a great kit, even for its time. But I really enjoy taking these old, outdated kits and seeing what I can do with them. So here it is, in its 1986 boxing, painted to resemble the Iowa, although I admit Iowa did not have the squared bridge at the same time she wore this camo. But it's hardly the kit to worry over much about accuracy! ??The kit includes no 40 mm quad guns, just empty tubs, so I added those from my 1/700 junk box. I recently built the Revell 1/720 Massachusetts, and the 40 mm quads from that work OK as they are a bit under scale in the Revell kit.
