USS Missouri

1/350 USS Missouri (Tamiya)

Tamiya 1/350th is still breathing hard but coming along nicely. Fibre optic portholes, four motorized props, motorized turrets, still designing radio system and rudder linkage. In a month or two and she'll be complete. Right now she's water tight and running smoothely

Updated Progress: I thought I'd show you my progress. The rudder linkage may not be pretty but it is very smooth and gives about 85 degrees of throw, the propeller shafts have been reworked and spin with almost no drag; I had to change them out after about two hours of bathtub testing. The stand-away braces on the outside of the model started showing wear. They now are over-bored and hollow brass bushings go from the hull through the braces all the way to the props. A lot of mistakes, but this is kind of my floating test-bed for the 1/96th to follow. This little boat is my first model since I was a child, and I think it is coming out reasonably well. My wife is already having nightmares about huge model battleships on trailers behind my pickup truck!

All the PE is from Tom's Modelworks
