USS Missouri

1/350 USS Missouri BB-63 (Mini-Hobby Models)

This Kit was built with a hodgepodge of PE sets that I didn't use on the North Carolina PE sets. I used Spider wire for some of the rigging as well as stretched spruce for the really thin stuff and straight antenna. For the smoke coming from the Big gun I used Cotton around stretched spruce as well as the smoke of the launching aircraft. Again the water is sculped from Liquitex Gel Medium with the base board being painted the color of an Atoll bay, with white dry brushed across the tops for foam.

I mispainted the main tower as it was on the Washington before knowing that it should be the same color as the rest of the main structure( didn't feel like changing it: paint gets thick and detail lost). This is a progression of the build and has some B&W images to show how she would have looked 67 years ago. ENJOY!
