1/350 USS Missouri BB-63 (Tamiya)
This is Tamiya’s new 1/350 scale USS Missouri 1991. I detailed it using the Pontos Models USS Missouri 1991 Detail Up Set. This set is designed for converting the Tamiya USS New Jersey into the Missouri. The rear deck on the new Tamiya Missouri is different from the New Jersey, so some modifications had to be made in order to get the photoetched deck sections to fit properly. I also used the USS New Jersey photoetched set from Eduard which had some details not included in the Pontos set. The model depicts the Missouri as she looked during Operation Desert Storm with scratch built RPV containers behind turret number 3. The model took me right at a year to complete and I really enjoyed it , but don’t want to build another.
