1/1200 DKM Scharnhorst 1942 (Revell)

For my second proper ship build I wanted to build one of my favorite ships from history, Scharnhorst. I’m drawn to this class of ships for its aesthetics as well as the unique operational history. I chose this guise from 1942 from the German Naval Camouflage book. I tapped into CAD for this ship build and really the only parts original to the kit are the turrets, hull, and Arado’s. The 3D printed superstructure and details are from my shop Harristotle’s Miniatures, the railing, catapult, and radar details are Tom’s Models PE, and I used Peddinghaus decals for the flags. I used Chris Flodberg’s technique for water. I think the result appears a little out of scale, but it’s a technique I’m looking to learn from and improve every build.
