This is my first ship model, it's Tamiya's 1/350 Bismarck kit. I applied real wood deck planking on the model to make it look more like "real wood". Also the Gold Medal Models photoetched set is used.

I manufactured the blast bags on the turrets using playdough.

The kit does not have any decals at all, I used the flag from Gold Medal flag decals set, Depth indicator ruler-like markings from Gold Medal naval decals set, and the swastikas for the Arados from black and white decal strips

The wood planking on deck is done by laying individual pieces of Model Railroader's scale lumber one by one using superglue. This part of the project took the longest time to complete. 1 year approximately. All other construction took 4-5 months.

Rigging is done using 0.1mm fishing line.

This model took Best ship and best of the show awards in a recent www.modelciler.org contest.
