Subject: Pictures of my 1/450-scale UPC Bismarck model for the site part 1 Date: Tue, 01 Apr 2003 21:44:28 +0000 From: rhernandez914@attbi.com To: Ship-Gallery@modelwarships.com Hello, I have attached some pictures of my 1/450-scale UPC Bismarck converted from the Tirpitz kit. As to the model: This is the old out of production UPC 1/450-scale Tirpitz kit converted to the Bismarck. It is the Bismarck in the paint scheme I believe it had upon its arrival to Norway for operation Rheinübung. Note; Current information indicates that there were no banners around the swastikas at that time. I used this old kit as a practice kit to remove some of the rust from my model building skills. It had been a few years since I had completed a kit due to my career demands and challenges. The kit had no collector’s value because of the shape of the box and the fact it came to me minus the instructions. The photo-etch comes from Tom's model works. The ship was completely hand painted using Tamiya paint.
