DKM Bismarck

1/600 DKM Bismarck (Airfix)

This is the Airfix 1/600 Bismarck. It has a fairly major shortcoming in that the hull appears too short in both the foredeck and afterdeck portions. Overall, it is not at all comparable to the best kits out there today, particularly on such a common subject as the Bismarck. But I build kits as much for the fun of doing it as for the finished result, and this would count as one where no, the result is not a museum piece, but I enjoyed building it.

I painted her in the "Rheinübung" camouflage she wore at the time of her sinking in May 1941, with yellow turret tops.
