1/400 FNS Dunkerque (Heller)
I built this kit ages ago. Since Dunkerque spent most of WWII moldering away in harbour, I wanted to show a bit of this neglect. The finish, particularly of the freeboard, uses alternating colour tones and pastel chalks. I did this because adjacent painted steel plates seem to weather in different ways,. The molded plastic deck railing was replaced with Gold Medal Models photoetched railing. I also sanded off the raised deck planking. Humbrol paints were used throughout.
