1/350 HMS Repulse 1941 (Trumpeter)
This is my "covid-lockdown" model. However, I was not completely satisfied with the way I built it the first time. The photos that my friend took just showed a lot of mistakes and the shape of the main mast was still stuck in my head. Once I took a deep breath and completely rebuilt the mast and a bunch of other details. Of course, this also included a complete redesign of all rigging. The model was a Trumpeter classic until 2010, i.e. it required the use of a lot of hard methods in order for everything to fit
together at all. The upgrade set from Flyhawk was perfect, although the sheet metal replacements of the original superstructures are not 100% correct. Correct resin replacements were once made by Admiralty Model Works, but due to the price I did not deal with this, and scratch build would definitely change the geometry of the model. The model finally won a silver medal at World Championship Naviga class "C" 2023 in Jablonec nad Nisou.
