This is a converted Tamiya King George V kit with the addition mainly of the added platform on either side of the forward bridge structure to accommodate 2 additional pom-pom's.Also i had to change the radar's to the later type and i was lucky to get some nice resin parts from S.Larsen just i was about to start scrachbuilting them myself. I had to add also another 4 pom-pom's on the deck as well according with my references. The painting is based on a couple of photographs and i have to say am not to sure about the painting of the vertical surfaces but from what i could gather i thought my guess was as good as anyone's on this matter.I tried to add a bit more detail on the deck in the shape of ropes , supplies , etc as i wanted to make it as lively as possible. About 60 figures were used as well.I weathered the ship slightly on the hull as in it meant to be peacetime and the maintenance is not as bad as in war time.I have created the seascape from transparent silicon after i painted the top of the base a blue -gray-green color.
