This is my version of the trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood. I have modified it to backdate the ship to 1940. At this time Hood still carried her steam pinnace boats and admirals barge and still retained her foremast. I feel she looked her best at this time.
I have carried out all the corrections listed on the Hood website with the exception of adding signal shelters because this work had not beeen done at this time.
Major corrections are, addition of diesel exhaust to rear tripod mast. Correction to vents at rear of shleter deck. Addition of vents for blacksmith and coppersmith workshops beside the rear funnel.
Correct internal funnel detail. ( HMS Hood did not have pipes or tubes coming up inside her funnels) Addition of vents to b abd x turrets Etc etc.
I used LionRoar turrets and barrels. Photoetch from LionRoar, WEM, GMM, and Eduard. If I was to only use one set I would recommend the Eduard, the relief etching is superb. Hand painted with Humbrol enamels.
