1/400 HMS Hood (Heller)
The Heller 1/400 Hood is 30 years old and showing its age. Anyone wanting to build a large scale Hood would probably go for the Trumpeter 1/350 model. But with a little scratchbuilding and a good set of PE (in this case WEM) I think a decent model can still be built. Thanks to the HMS Hood website for advice, where a very interesting model by Roger Meadows can be found of how Hood might have looked had she received her refit in early WW2 (www.hmshood.com/hoodtoday/models/index.htm)
Hood, of course, was a battlecruiser and thus was not designed to engage battleships A combination of the myth she created as the largest warship of the interwar years and necessity led to her tragic loss.
