This was the second part of a commission to build a Bismarck and a Hood, both in heavy seas. As I didn't have a picture as a guide this time, I used my imagination to create a very dramatic scene. The Hood had a reputation of a very wet ship so I felt like adding a bit of extra water as she is just coming in and out of a wave. I didn't super detail however, but the kit has very nice details on its own and with a bit of etch, it gives a very convincing rendering of the real thing. The sea was created with silicone which was shaped with a wet finger and then painted dark blue. The water again is transparent silicone which was painted selectively with tones of white and light blue but also left in parts to its original translucent hue.
