1/600 HMS Iron Duke (Airfix)
Having not built a model in some twenty years I accidently found a kit of HMS WARSPITE while looking for a Tribal class destroyer. At first the battleship didn't really interest me, but once I followed up on her career and her exploits in Norway with the Tribals I had to build her. IRON DUKE was just sitting there on the shelf looking for a home so I built her also, aquiring quite an admiration for the technical marvels of there time.
This model is built straight out of the box, it wasn't until I built my Tribal HMCS HAIDA ( my fathers first ship ) that I realized she looked to umm British. The RCN Tribals were quite a bit different so here I am a year later with a small fleet of 24 1/600 scale ships and I am learning the hard way how to scratch build. I am however enjoying it all and if its a little rough around the edges who cares.
