Tamiya 1/350 Plastic kit

This was one fun project I've always wanted to do a Prince of Wale's in that awesome camouflage pattern of five color's. Three wonderful sources made this possible, the first being Plastic Ship Modeler for the pattern, and the five color code's from the 2nd quarter 1995 issue. The second being Snyder & Short WW-2 Royal Navy Color Chips. These made mixing of the paint easier by comparing the paint mixture with the chip and the result was a color as authentic as it could be. Third to the owner of the local Hobbytown USA for helping me with the mixing of the Humbrol paint to an exact match of the S&S paint chip.

Also added to the ship was Gold Medal Models Prince of Wale's photo etch set, one naval figure's set, and an assorted cable reels set. I also tried something different with the sea I always liked those 1/700 box tops of Japanese Battleships and Aircraft Carriers models kits from the 1970s with vivid blue waves and white foam made from a combination of celluclay , liquitex gel medium with manganese blue , primary cyan blue and titanium white toped with future floor wax. Overall I was quite pleased with the way the Prince of Wale's turned out.
