HMS Queen Elizabeth

1/700 HMS Queen Elizabeth, 1918 (White Ensign)

This is White Ensign Models' 1/700 Queen Elizabeth in her 1918 fit. After suffering though Trumpeter's 1/700 Franklin this is a welcome relieve. Everything falls together nicely and only minimum correction is needed.

Some of the 15" gun barrels in the kit were deformed. WEM was very quick to send me replacement parts once they heard me. Kudos to WEM! But I wasn't sure I like the look and feel of the resin barrels after putting them on. A trip to Pacific Front's website quickly solved the problem. Clipper's 15" brass barrels I bought from Bill are very nice. Still I need to cut down the length to match the drawings.

Strangely no aircraft are provided but parts are on the PE fret that comes with the kit. I have to scratch built Sopwith Strutter and Camel on the fly-off platforms.

My primary reference is "Anatomy of the Ship:HMS Warspite". Because of the time constrain to finish it for a local contest my research effort was not as through as my other projects. You should be able to find a some errors here and there. Nevertheless this was a very enjoyable project.
