Here are some Photos of my model of the British Battlecruiser, HMS Tiger. The kit is the Combrig 1/700 resin one, with photoetch by White Ensign and Gold Medal with Gold Medal figures. Rigging is my usual technique of teased out nylon cord. The diorama represents the ship just after completion, late in 1914, when she was still on the River Clyde. The little paddle steamer is scratchbuilt (except for the ventilators) and does not really depict any particular vessel. Rather, it is a generic representation of just one of the hundreds of such vessels that plied their trade around the Scottish coast in the latter nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
It won a silver medal at Scale Modelworld at Telford on 2004. Nobody "really" minds coming second if Jim Baumann comes first!!!
