1/350 IJN Yamato (Tamiya)
The ship is modeled in 1/350 scale as the Yamato would have looked right before it's fateful voyage in 1945. The kit is the new tool Tamiya and it is detailed using the Pontos photo-etch set, which replaces ALL gun barrels with brass barrels. The Pontos set boasts so much detail that much care was given to painting them. Combined with pre-shading, this allowed the final ship, which was in single shade of gray, to look much more interesting. Additional details were also added, such as extra jackstays on the bridge superstructure and folding the wings of 4 planes carried by the Yamato.
