Szent Istvan

1/700 KuK Szent Istvan (WSW)

This the Austro-Hungarian battleship Szent Istvan as she appeared on June 10, 1918 at 06:00. She is about 12 minutes from turning turtle and sinking from two torpedos that smashed into her broadside from the Italian torpedo boat MAS-15. An attempt to beach the ship on Molat Island failed and the Szent Istvan capsized taking 89 of her crew to the bottom with her. Amazingly, there is actual film footage of this sinking which inspired me to attempt a model of it. The WSW kit of the Szent Istvan is the perfect model for this project and is highly recommended.
