The ship is the “ARA Moreno”, one of the two Rivadavia class battleships that were built. They were in service between 1915 and 1952.
Those vessels were the only dreadnought-type battleships built by the Argentine Navy.
This is my first scratchbuilt ship and its construction took me about one year and a half.
“Ara Moreno” Battleship Specs: Displacement 31,000 Tons, Dimensions, 181.23 m x 29.85m x 15.45m (Max). Armament 12 x 305mm, 12 x 152mm, 4 x 47mm. Armor 11" Belt, 12" Turrets. Machinery 50,000 HP Curtis Turbines, 3 screws. Speed 23 Knots, Crew 1202.
Operational and Building Data: Laid down by New York, Shipbuilding, Camden, NJ., Sept. 23, 1911. Commissioned March, 1915. Decommissioned 1952. Sold Feb. 8, 1956 to Boston Metals Co., towed to Japan and scrapped by Hikari Co. in 1957.
