USS Tuscaloosa CA-37

1/500 USS Tuscaloosa CA-37 (Scratchbuild)

This is my USS Tuscaloosa CA-37. She is in measure 12 as she appeared in late 1942. As usual, I have taken some liberties and added 40mm's from Renwal and lowered the searchlight platform. My attempt at a Curtis Seagull is not very good either. the photos are in black and white so I am guessing at the colors also.

The hull is wood and the superstructure is basswood and plastic with pe details. The 8" main battery is from an old Revell heavy cruiser. The 5" 25's are from the Arizona. The fire control is from kits I have cut up. radar, railings, ladders and hatched are from GMM. anchor chain is from Macy's. the skipper is on the port bridge wing along with some crew. They came from Tom's via FDD.

At this time of the war, Tuscaloosa was spending her time on the Murmansk run...tough duty!
