1/500 USS Wichita CA-45 (Scratchbuilt)
After doing some serious injustice to CA-45 a few years ago, I found some good photos and decided to try again. This is my USS Wichita. The hull is cedar and the superstructure is basswood, plastic and brass. The 8" main battery is from Revell as are all of the 40mm's, masts, etc. I used almost everything from a heavy cruiser except the 5" 38's. Those went on Maryland. The mark 33 fire controls with pe radars are from Revells Yorktown. GMM pe supplied the search radars,ladders and rails.
She is shown as she appeared in the latter years of the war in ms. 21.
