USS St. Paul CA-73

1/481 USS St. Paul CA-73 (Revell)

The ship was intended to portray the St. Paul around the 1948-49 time frame... (the kit was built and given to a crew member who served on board during that time and on into the Korean conflict.) The old Revell kit was a challenge, part fit up was bad (lots of sanding and dry fitting) and some of the pieces were majorly out of scale. Fixed her up best as I could and waterlined the hull, showing her underway. Its been along time (decades) since I built one of the old Revell kits and I was reasonably happy with the results. Probably not a contest winner, but I am proud of it all the same. The Veteran I gave her to was very pleased and packed her off  to Florida, where she now resides in retirement.
