1/700 Georgios Averoff (YS Masterpieces)
This is the YS Masterpieces 1/700 scale resin kit of the armoured cruiser built in Livorno Italy form the Greek Navy. The ship was delivered 27th February 1910, and took part in World War One which the kit depicts in it’s out of the box version.
I have represented the 1941 version which sailed to Alexandria, and was then based in Bombay to patrol the Indian Ocean.
Today the ship has been restored, and is a museum representing the history of the Greek Navy.
The construction used Italian engines, French boilers, German generators, and British guns of 190, and 234 mm calibre. The ship displaced 10,200 tonnes, and the top speed was 23 knots.
