1/350 HMS Belfast (Trumpeter)
Trumpeter's 1/350 Belfast with Flyhawk and Gold Medal etch. I've also used some NorthStar and Eduard details. Heading home in icy seas.
Sea was made with plaster 'ice' that was pre-made on a garbage bag with
plaster that was spread around thinly. After it cured, I cracked
it and selected pieces and glued them down onto an already completed sea.
I wanted to experiment with a somewhat denser field of ice. It would certainly
be the densest ice Belfast encountered. I pumped up the density a
bit to add drama and suggest the fields of thin surface ice you see so
often in old photos.
