1/700 HMS Exeter 1942 (Matchbox)
I bought this kit many years ago, but decided that the 1939 version looked rather plain so I opted to try to convert it to the post encounter with the Graf Spee rebuilt version. Many parts came from old Hood, KGV & Nelson models, my old parts box, and some were scratchbuilt. The pom-poms, crane and Walrus are from White Ensign, most of the photo-etch is from the latest Gold Medal British warships set, the masts are brass rod and the radars are from Lion Roar and Tom's Models. There are a few excellent photos of the Exeter moored off Batavia in early 1942, so I tried to put her in that setting. It took some time, but I'm happy with the end product.
