IJN Hashidate
by Gone Asiatic

1/700 IJN Hashidate (Sealsmodels)

I used wire for the yardarms. Rigging is stretched sprue; railing is GMM and Atlantic. This Sealsmodels kit is of a rather odd ship, one of three of the Sankeikan class named after scenic spots in Japan (Matsushima, Hashidate, and Itsukushima). The ship was not of a very successful design by the Frenchman Emile Bertin. These ships fought in the Sino-Japanese War and Russo-Japanese War. The ship`s were amed with a sufficient number of quick-firing guns to off-set the ponderously slow rate of fire and inaccuracy of the12.6in Canet gun. The Canet gun is a particularly interesting feature of well cast parts.

Two kits are included in the box (the other being Itsukushima).
