1/700 Imperial Chinese cruiser Tsi Yuen (S-Model)

Built in Germany, Tsi Yuen/Ji Yuan was one of the Qing Dynasty's new steam cruisers, and went on to participate in the 1894-95 Sino-Japanese War where she was eventually captured and placed into Japanese service as a war prize.

The S-Model kit is good, as usual, but mine came with three of the 8.2" brass barrels instead of two 8.2" and a 5.9", so many thanks to Sean Hert for sending along a spare. I replaced the yardarm with a brass rod, and figures are from Eduard.

Brush-painted with PollyScale Japanese Deep Yellow and Lifecolor Black and Teak.
