Both the Leahy Class and the Belknap Class guided missile cruisers had graceful almost yacht-like lines and served escorting USN aircraft carriers around the planet from the 1960's into the 1990's. This is a scatch-build model of the Belknap Class CG-34 USS Biddle. In the background is a same-scale scatch-build of Leahy Class CG-17 Yarnell. I used sheet plastic, balsa, note-card paper, and broom stick bristle and pieces from the parts bin to build, primarily off of photographs from the Navsource website, and line drawings from Jane's Fighting Ships.
