The text as follows: 1/350 CGX-21 Aegis Stealth Strike Cruiser built by Eric Mante Shown here is my interpretation for a 21st Century future US Navy warship. This design is based partially on references of the cancelled "Arsenal Ship" concept projects undertaken by the Navy and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) during the late 1980's/early 1990's, as well as references to the current Navy SC-21 project which is to develop a "family" of vessels (CGX, DD-21, DDX, etc.) to replace the TICONDEROGA, SPRUANCE, and OLIVER HAZARD PERRY classes of ships in the next 20-30 years. The lower hull is from a second TICONDEROGA I had. The ENTIRE angled superstructure was 99% scratchbuilt as were the two 5" guns. I also didn't want the VLS hatches to look too plain, so I decided to paint them to show "CGX-21" as well as an American flag. It may look weird, but I like it. This ship won me a Second Place ribbon at a local Hobbytown USA contest here in S.E. Wisconsin. Name: strike1.jpg strike1.jpg Type: JPEG Image (image/jpeg) Encoding: base64
