Subject: FedEx part 1 Date: Sat, 22 Nov 2003 23:49:51 -0600 From: "Eric" To: To: Tim Dike or Jeff Herne This email plus the following 5 emails are pictures of my FedEx Ticonderoga cruiser I am sending in for posting. Each email I send will be titled "FedEx parts (1-6)" and the pics that are attached to the emails are labled as DSCN2957, DSCN2958, DSCN2961, DSCN2962, DSCN2964, and DSCN2967. The text to go with the pics as follows: 1/350 USS Special Delivery, FedEx Cruiser built by Eric Mante Shown here are pictures of a 1/350 Testor Italeri USS Gettysburg, TICONDEROGA class cruiser that I built and repainted as a FedEx TICONDEROGA class cruiser. I guess my way of looking at it is: "Due to military budget cutbacks, the Navy is now seeking sponsors to help keep it's fleet of ships afloat.". I chose this unique and humorous scheme because I wanted to simply do something different and show that modeling can be FUN. Although this model doesn't look very impressive as far as painting, photoetch, etc.; I did take it to a model contest back on Oct. 4, 2003 (and also Nov. 1, 2003) just for the hell of it. Little did I know that this model would get some serious compliments and reviews. It actually won me a First Place trophy (Oct. 4) and a Third Place ribbon (Nov. 1). I can only guess that people thought that it was a unique and humorous subject and I guess that's why it won the way it did. People at the contests actually liked it and I hope you do too. :) Name: DSCN2957.JPG DSCN2957.JPG Type: JPEG Image (image/jpeg) Encoding: base64
