This kit was actually an experiment since I had already built Trumpeter’s Kirov in 1/350. I wanted to see what differences in detail were there between the two scales and also up to what limit my amateur skills can enhance the smaller scale. I didn’t bothered about structural faults made by Trumpeter. This will be a future experiment. I simply added what was not there in the small ship (and was either there in 1/350 or even not at all). For example I tried make what I believe is a missile loading device?? at bow, port side. I used 18 pieces from sprue, evergreen plastic, PE spares and various bits and pieces. All doors, vertical and inclined ladders were from the spare box. Real chain was added. Of course, I also have used the excellent WEM Kirov PE set. The radar assemblies are a work of art, models by themselves. All rigging and antennas are stretched sprue. I dare to say that my 1/700 Kirov has almost the same (and in some parts even more) detail than my previous 1/350 one. It was a good practice and a lesson for future projects.
