1/350 USS Juneau CL-52 1942 (Blue Water Navy)

Built mostly out of the box, with the following additions. Extra rails added in various places, and a few figures added. Painted with White Ensign enamel paints and Testors Acrylic overcoats added. Washed highlighted with artist oils. Rigging is .004 monofiliment for flag lines, and .005 stainless steel for standing rigging. This is my first ship model. Building time approximately 15 months.

This is my first "real" ship kit!! I built it for the family of a deceased survivor. It took about 15 months to complete, and the hardest part was not knowing what all the parts were. Thankfully, I had good references, and some really good advice from a few great ship modelers. Len Roberto, and Jeff Herne included!! I guess this project could be called "The Agony and the Ecstasy"!! From agonizing over a subject I knew little about to start, and the ecstacy in completing it!!
