USS Denver

1/700 USS Denver CL-58 1944 (Pit-Road)

The USS Denver was a member of the Cleveland class light cruisers in WWII. The USS Denver was one of the first ships of this class which came late 1942 into service.

The Denver has as all of the first seven ships of the class the rounded bridge. The Clevelands are always one of my favorite class of ships of the US Navy.  I have used for my USS Denver kit a new resin hull which had the correct stern and the blister and tapering amidships.

Many parts are modified like the bridge and funnels or replaced like the  12.7cm turrets ( with LionRoar), the quad 40mm ( with Niko) and the 20mm from GMM. The kit should show the USS Denver after her refit at Mare island in May 1944. I have painted the kit with colours from ModelMasters.
