1/500 HMS Andromeda (Scratchbuilt)
Having enjoyed " A Ship Must Die" by Douglas Reeman for the umpteenth time, I descended to try to make a Leander class light cruiser. Andromeda was the fictional light cruiser who's exploits, are depicted in the book.
I bought a 1/600 kit of Ajax to use as plans. the main battery is from Nichimo and the modified bridge and secondary mounts are from my parts box. Pom poms are from Revell.
The catapult is from a UPC Exeter.
The paint job is from a black and white photo of a model of Ajax on display at the Imperial War museum,wherever that is!
