1/500 HMS Arethusa (Scratchbuilt)
I wish I could say: I have always wanted to build this graceful light cruiser but, this is a "left over parts attempt. What can I make with 3 turrets, some bridge material, and wood?
Designed as a convoy escort vessel, Arathusa and here sister ship Penelope served very well at what they were intended. They were lightly armored vessels and the Kriegsmarine supplied much of the air conditioning vents.
The hull is cedar. The main battery is left over from Nichimo and, the AA is anybodies guess. Pe has been added to the plastic crane and catapult to go along with the rails,ladders and hatches.
The photo I have shows a pre-war cruiser with lots of nice yachts. I removed these and the TT tubes in favor of an anti submarine capacity
