1/500 HMS Dido (Scratchbuilt)
This is my attempt at a Dido class light cruiser. The guns and boats are from various kits and hull and superstructure are wood, plastic and pe. masts are from plastic rod and some kit parts. I used b/w photos of a model of Dido. The paint job is from b/w photos of another RN cruiser.
While made to fight aircraft, they ,like their American cousins the Atlanta's found themselves occasionally pitted against larger, more traditional cruiser designs and usually came off second best. They remain a graceful design and I am pleased with mine.
