1/700 SMS Emden (Classic Warships)

SMS Emden had a brief and successful career as a commerce raider at the beginning of WWI. She also sank two combatants in a dawn raid on Penang Harbour (British Malaya). Emden sank Russian cruiser Zemchug with gunfire and torpedoes - the torpedoes were launched from 300 yards. A French destroyer gave chase when Emden withdrew and was promptly sunk.

She met her end while raiding a cable station in the Coccos Islands; HMAS Sydney responded to the radio call for help and, enjoying advantages in both speed and gunnery, pounded Emden into scrap iron."
