1/700 USS Yorktown CV-10 (Trumpeter)
This is my fourth Essex Class Carrier, the USS Yorktown CV 10. She is wearing camouflage MS 33/10A, which she wore May, 1944 till the end of the war. I modeled her as she appeared after her refit in the fall of 1944. The refit included modifying the island to the late war type, additional 40mm Bofors quad mounts and 20 mm Oerlikons, and improved radar. The Yorktown was awarded 11 Battle Stars.A great source of information on the Essex class carriers can be located here.
